Comparative Literature - C LIT

This course will examine the major social, political, and economic trends in postwar and Cold War Europe, 1945-1991, through their effects on daily life across the region, as represented in films produced during the period. It will survey the changes in filmmaking practices during this time, focusing on movements and directors that aimed to capture and critique modernity’s effects on ordinary people.

Prerequisites: Sophomore standing or higher, or consent of instructor.
