AS AMW 10 - Martial Arts in U.S. Culture
How did martial arts come to suffuse Hollywood action films? How did taekwondo studios crop up in Midwestern suburbs? This cultural-studies course explores those questions and more while engaging students in a rangeof research methods—ethnography, textual analysis, phenomenology—to contribute to collective knowledge about these histories and practices.
