The field of gene therapy is inherently interdisciplinary, drawing on concepts and tools from molecular biology, biochemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, and synthetic biology. This course will delve into a wide array of topics at the intersection of the aforementioned disciplines, including gene delivery, reporter gene imaging, viral and non-viral vectors, genetic editing, metabolic disease, clinical trial design, FDA-approved gene therapies, and the social/ethical considerations surrounding gene therapy.
