not an easy GE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! although the professor does literally let you know whats on the test, there is a lot to memorize so if you have have a hard time memorizing definitions and timelines, i'd recommend you take another GE class. but i really enjoyed it because i already like history, so thats something to keep in mind!!!!

2025 class was structured where your grade is only comprised of the midterm, final exam, and section participation. Final makes you memorize 3-sentence definitions for 50+ terms, 30 dates, and has an in-class handwritten essay which he doesn't tell you the prompt, what the topic is, or how its graded beforehand so pretty difficult to prepare for.

He was a pretty chill guy! He definitely enjoys what he teaches. He talks about midterm and final and quizzes in advanced but DEF study early. Hecka terms and stuff but overall pretty interesting! Essay on final 🥀 but no surprises!

He is the best!! If you love global history, the lectures are very interesting. He is excited to teach everyday, and gives you study guides for all of the tests that are exactly like the actual test. He genuinely cares about his students and is so kind! THE GOAT!

Professor Hamed-Troyansky is absolutely wonderful! One of my favorite classes I have taken here at UCSB by far. I could understand why some might say the class required some effort, you do have to memorize definitions and dates but all expectations are clear and if you study you will do just fine!
