CollegeThis professor was the worst I have had at UCSB! She is extremely disorganized yet expects her students to somehow follow along. She always says "I forgot where we left off last". She provides no study guide and her tests are extremely specific! If I were you I would avoid this professor at all costs!
Had her for Islam Archit and it was a great class. The material sometimes is overwhelming and seemingly unorganized, but she clarifies everything during OH. Her slides and info posted online are very helpful. She will look over your papers if you get a rough draft done early. Work hard and show up EARLY for her OH and you'll be fine.
I know she has a bad rep,but that is mainly due to here teaching abilities in lower div. survey courses. have her in upper divs and she is way better. assignments handed out weeks prior to due date is good, test are not hard, but can have some wierd questions.
Her lectures were hard to hear and understand, the material itself wasn't hard she just sucked at teaching it. She also took most of the quarter to announce the midterm date and switched the schedule a lot and was not very accommodating to schedule conflicts/needing to miss class or a test. I still passed so…
Prof. Khoury is very knowledgeable in her field but struggles with making it interesting for the students and lectures are hard to sit through. Attendance is required but sorta inefficient with a sign in sheet that got passed around. Grade made up from two papers (graded hardly) and midterm/final that weren't too bad but lots of information.
I had struggles with her a lot this quarter, and the night PRIOR to the midterm, she sends out a revised email telling us we had to study the lectures from the day prior. She wasn't consistent, never was right with the slides, not good at electronics, readings are broad, and expects you to write bibliographic information (yes, WRITE).
