CollegeKennedy is a good professor in some aspects. He tries his best to be thorough with his content but sometimes falls short. It can be hard to follow along because his lectures are not very engaging. But I definitely did learn a lot in Ling 107, from both lecture and section
Fifth time taking Prof. Kennedy. He is very caring and supportive. The exams and assignments are not hard but inspiring. My favorite professor in ling department!
This class was tough and sometimes boring. The lectures were scattered at times. The homework should be very easy. The midterm was brutal, but then the final was scaled way back. Take advantage of office hours and READ THE BOOK even if it doesn't seem as though you need to. He's a great teacher but this class wasn't my favorite of his. Still, good.
He's a hit or a miss. Some students love him while others don't find his lectures to be interesting. The workload is do-able. Definitely go to Office hours for hw help. He's very passionate about linguistics. I think he's a great and supportive professor for the department! :)
If you're a PBS Major looking for an easy prep for major course, take LING70 with Kennedy! He is very knowledgeable in the area and the course itself is set up for you to succeed. An A is very attainable and the TA's are super helpful. Overall the easiest and most interested prep for major I took!
You could just attend lectures and not do any additional studying/work and end with an A. He's really knowledgeable and passionate about the content of the class and your grade is based off of quizzes and reflections where an A is guaranteed, along with exams. So your grade is more padded then it might be in some other GEs. Overall recommend!
