CollegeProf. Weldeab is very direct which can be off-putting for some people. That said, he really does care about his students understanding the material, and made stable isotopes fascinating. Doesn't take attendance but since his slideshows are mostly just graphs, you need to be there to get the concepts. Very light homework load
Took his honors seminar class this semester (by accident) about environmentalism and climate warming/geology. He took time to meet with every single student for the final project and make pre-made presentations for each topic. Great professor-- passionate about his topic, ended up loving the class :)
Earth 124I He tests you on obscure material that he "mentioned" once. Lectures are confusing, he is not helpful in office hours, and he is frankly condescending. The content of biogeochemical isotopes is fascinating but I would never take a class with him. He should not be a professor with the lack of respect and disregard he has for his students.
Professor Weldeab was a pretty good professor. He did talk in circles a lot, but that's only because he really cared that the students understood the concepts. Class involves a lot of memorization, and midterm and final are worth 80% of your grade. However, the tests are incredibly simple and MC. As long as you show up to class you'll do good.
