Prof. Weldeab teaches interesting content, but is not receptive to ALL of his students' questions. He can at times dismiss his students when they ask questions, and although he claims to care about his students' learning, I think he would benefit from looking inward at how he treats others. Would not recommend.

Earth 105 is a very test heavy class so if you are not a good test taker then you probably are not going to do that well. I also am not a fan of iclicker due to the numerous technical difficulties. Nevertheless he is a nice and approachable teacher who clearly cares about his students.

Great info dense slides. Uses many examples but the concepts are relatively intuitive. Go to section — it will reinforce your learning. Syee can be a bit blunt but he is not unfair; he values his students understanding.

In EARTH 105 He obviously knows a lot of information, but seems to be annoyed if you don't understand the material. It is very hard to understand the lectures and little details matter. If you miss lectures you're screwed and the quizes hold a ton of weight in the class. This is definitely not an easy course and i wish i took something else.

Prof. Weldeab is very direct which can be off-putting for some people. That said, he really does care about his students understanding the material, and made stable isotopes fascinating. Doesn't take attendance but since his slideshows are mostly just graphs, you need to be there to get the concepts. Very light homework load

Took his honors seminar class this semester (by accident) about environmentalism and climate warming/geology. He took time to meet with every single student for the final project and make pre-made presentations for each topic. Great professor-- passionate about his topic, ended up loving the class :)
