CollegeBlake is that professor you never forget, you're gonna want to pay attention to her. She's brilliant and relates text to real life in an entirely seamless way. Take her for every class she offers, she'll give you an experience you'll keep referencing back to. I hope she continues to teach forever, she's one of the good ones.
As an English major, she probably taught my favorite class I've taken on the subject at UCSB. She lectures enough, but doesn't overtake and allows time for response. The novels chosen are interesting and the discussions about them really help clarify the material. Overall one of the best classes I've ever had.
She is not only an incredible educator but just a super amazing person. She really cares about her students and does everything she can to help you succeed both in and out of the class. Her classes are not for those who don't give a sh*t and just want an A for doing nothing. Great discussions and wonderful collaboration with the whole class.
Professor Blake is probably the most enthusiastic professor I have had at UCSB. She is incredibly passionate for the 8am and I respect her for that. It's an easy GE if you participate and do the readings.
Incredible professor, talked about a lot of really relevant topics. Reading is hard to keep up on but if you do it's pretty easy to pass with a high grade.
Professor Blake is clearly very passionate about her work, I found the lectures to be pretty engaging. Keep up with the reading and its all good
