Carmen will help you if you are lost. She really wants her students to succeed, learn Spanish, and enjoy class. Class was online so we did frequent breakout rooms on Zoom, which is nice for practicing Spanish with your classmates. Hard exams, but easy homework assignments which really boost up your overall grade. Highly recommended professor!

If you ask her a question, she just repeats the question in Spanish. This class is BEGINNER Spanish. We don't KNOW Spanish but she speaks to us as if we are native speakers. Every single day is hard in this class & everyone feels lost 24/7. No one feels prepared for Spanish 3, which we all need for graduation. Carmen is the worst prof Ive ever had.

Carmen comes to her own class late. She speaks in advanced Spanish that NO ONE understands. She puts incorrect due dates online & then gets mad at you for turning stuff in late. She doesnt teach. She expects you to learn on your own. I have yet to hear a single positive thought of her from my peers. She doesnt respond to emails either. WORST EVER!

she would quickly give us instructions in Spanish, indecipherable to a new learner, then she would send us into breakout rooms. Everyone would have no idea what we were supposed to do. Even if we did, she would have the breakout rooms be 1 minute for us to answer questions. Someone NEEDS to tell her we arent fluent. Please. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!

I truly have never had a worse teacher. Everyday in class was difficult. From the first day, she used advanced Spanish. She would ask a question in Spanish and have us sit in silence while a confused student tried to figure out what she was asking. When they asked for help, she would only repeat the question. Do not take her class!
