CollegeThe grade distribution is 25% midterm one, 25% midterm two, 35% final, 15% homework. The homework is due before you even learn about the chapter which doesn't make sense at all. The tests are really similar to the handouts, but the time is TIGHT on midterm 2. If you get a bad grade on one test, you're screwed. No curve!
Professor Hulme is probably the best Accounting professor at UCSB. She should be teaching more classes, including the lower divisions, I wish that I had taken her classes sooner! Her lectures are good and easy to follow, she does a good job explaining things. Tests are challenging but very doable since she covers every type of question in class.
Took 136B and 136C with Hulme and it was not a pleasant experience. Could seem pretentious at times. Lectures were okay but pretty boring and listening could be difficult especially when the materials get harder in 136C.
Prof Hulme is a great professor. A bit of a different experience than her 136B since we were online for a half a quarter, but given the situation she did a great job teaching us. Very clear lectures and access to some critical extra credit opportunities that really help if you are really close to the next letter grade
It's so refreshing taking this class after having Harmon for 136A & 136B. We are only halfway through the quarter, but I can already tell Hulme is a spectacular professor, explains concepts clearly and goes over examples. Tests are difficult, but accurately reflect what you are lectured on. I wish I had gotten the chance to take her classes sooner.
Professor Hulme gives amazing lectures! If you want to really learn something, take her classes. Even though her exams are tough, they are extremely fair. Shes not only a professor to her students, but also a mentor. Ask her questions and seek for advice! Practice her handouts in classes 5times, then you will get an A!( I only did 3times so... )
