This was a great class and I thought Kelsey did a great job. My biggest issue was with my TA Robert who misgraded a lot of my work (I had to attend office hours and was able to get my midterm grade changed from 82% to a 97%).

ES15B . 5 Months Ago

A bit harder than 15A but still very manageable. Kelsey keeps the same formats for her classes (midterm, final, presentations, paper) so everyone was super expected by the time I took 15B. And like 15B, not much math or prior knowledge necessary so if you pay attention during lecture you can succeed.

ENVS15A . 5 Months Ago

Kelsey did a great job of making this class super relevant to environmental topics. This class is very friendly for anyone who hasn't taken chem or doesn't remember chemistry. in 15A the only math we did was balancing equations and some simple unit conversions. Tests were super manageable if you payed attention during class.

Professor Dowdy was such a wonderful professor. She was amazing in 15A and B, and her main goal in the class was making sure her students understood the material. She composes lectures that are easy to learn from, and shares her passion for environmental science and chemistry with her students. 100% would definitely take again!

My fav prof so far. Dowdy makes chem fun, relevant, & understandable. Huge emphasis on ability to explain/write out chem concepts, which is difficult but prof & TAs prepare you well. Class is super accommodating, no chem bg needed. Grade made up of several diff assignments, so midterm + final are lower stakes. Looking forward to rest of series!

Great class for people who aren't super familiar with chemistry. She's a great lecturer and listens to feedback but most importantly implements the suggestions that students have to make the class better. Very excited to take her B and BL next quarter.
