CollegeMY KINGGG I love porter, math 2B is much harder than math 2A but he recognizes that and really wants people to pass his class. I had him for 2A too, he's really funny and a cool guy in general. I will say he doesn't really curve at all (rounds up to next percentage) but it's not too hard to pass his classes since the practice tests are good
Homework is a little long at times, but teaching is good and you will learn if you show up for lectures. You will have 2 midterms but the final will replace the lower graded midterm if the final is higher, which is great if you bombed one of the midterms.
not a great professor. he mumbles a lot in his lectures.
If you took 2A, its the exact same thing just more concepts. Porter is a great person and professor. Calculus is just difficult but just be on top of HW and studying. It does take to understand but he is very nice and although he mumbles in lecture his notes are helpful. As always, go to office hours and ask for help from him and TA's
Not the best lecturer, but works with all students to do well, he is really compassionate. Just go to office hours for both your TA and him, and you will be fine. His review packets for tests are harder than the real one, use those and note problems, and CLAS practice tests to study.
Matt Porter is a great guy. I had him for both 2A and 2B in a row, and he is very clearly on the students' side. In 2A, he clearly had some personal matters which limited his abilities, but he went the extra mile to make sure those issues did not impact his students. As a student who isn't great at math, Porter made me believe I can actually do it.
