Professor Fujino is very passionate about this subject and her lectures are very informative and are the basis for the exams. Exams rely on reading the material and mostly on lecture notes. All readings are provided as pdfs. Section has weekly write ups and is helpful with midterm and final review. Finals are written long essay answers.

Best professor I've had, but be aware attendance is crucial, she doesn't post the lecture slides and those r literally everything you need besides the readings. The exams are the same, just remember specific examples for the mini essays. Other than that, I loved how passionate and genuine she was. She's an amazing professor, 1000% recommend :)

She is extremely passionate about her work, kind hearted, caring, enthusiastic, I LOVED her as a person but I intended to take this class as an easy GE and it was NOT!!! So much reading and she does not post lecture slides, and grading is very exam heavy. Only take this class if you are truly passionate about the subject, but not for an easy GE :)

Lectures are dense and missing a lecture could lead to missing important information. She does not post lecture slides. Reading is mandatory but she assigns around 40 pages per week which sometimes comprise entire test questions. Contextual understanding and specific examples from readings/notes are required to score well. TA's 20% is uncertain.

Content was interesting. Lots of assigned reading. Sections were VERY helpful. 80% of your grade is two in class essays (midterm and final) and they're pretty tough graders, but an A is achievable as long as you stay engaged with the readings and lectures. Slides aren't posted so you can't really skip, but it was worth going to!
