CollegeI would not recommend taking his class. If you have to, you will be okay. Professor V on youtube uses the same textbook and will teach you everything you need to know. The TAs for our class gave tons of partial credit. Do as many practice problems as possible before the exams. You'll be stressed and you'll have to grind but you will be okay.
avoid taking him if possible. professor Akemann sucks at lecturing and you never really know what to expect on his exams. you're better off self-studying if you want to pass with a decent grade. i got the grade i got partially because of personal circumstances but had this professor been better, I'm sure I would have gotten a better grade.
did not learn a thing from lecture: unclear handwriting, incomprehensible, goes off-topic, lowkey problematic jokes, final covered like 40% of the course (and the median was pretty low). however, he had a super lenient grading criteria + rounded up grades so i guess it balanced things out to some extent
He mentioned wolf gram alpha every lecture, I was surprised he wasn't sponsored by them. You're gonna have to self teach yourself the curriculum (organic chem tutor will be a better professor than him). His grading system, in general + on tests, was pretty forgiving though, which is maybe the only compliment I can give him.
the GOAT of math 3b
Started off the quarter with a slow, not very good professor; By week 4, we had a new professor, Akemann, who honestly seems like a nice guy who does know a lot of material under the dept of math and is trying; however, he is unorganized and his lectures were not helpful (practically had to teach myself the material) BEWARE.
