CollegeI never knew what was going on in class. They didn't explain why we needed to know this concept or anything, we were just thrown equations and graphs without any explanation. Midterm was so easy it was actually comical, it was verbatim the weekly problem sets we had to do. They seemed nice, and idk if it was the class, but they cant teach.
Take her if you get the chance!! She is so awesome and probably my favorite teacher so far at UCSB. So caring, passionate, and engaging. Her lectures are far from boring and she makes the class totally reasonable. I adore her and miss her already!!!
Work is very easy to complete and you will get a good score if you follow the criteria and engage thoughtfully.
Dr. Shay is the best professor I have ever had. She really is there for the students. Over all she makes it very clear that your mental and physical health come before school in her class. She wants you to thrive and grow in her class which you cannot do when your hierarchy of needs are not met. Exceptions in class are clear.
So nice and awesome. Obviously really cares about her students and loves teaching. Tries to make content as engaging as possible and is very understanding. Lectures were super interesting as well and clear what you need to know. Literally my goat.
Inspiring, caring, and funny. All professors should be like her, take her class!!!!
