CollegeThe lab class is a lot of work but it's not bad. I took it as a third year transfer and this class was a lot easier than some of my other labs. The calculations aren't difficult and you have lab time to work on them. Follow the rubrics and you will be fine. Pazos was very nice and helpful when I had a medical emergency.
The class itself is time consuming but not difficult and the final was doable. Only interacted with her via email and she was very responsive and accommodating so I appreciated it. I've never met anyone's grade who got curved down but people say it happens but my grade pretty much stayed the same and some friends grades got better.
Never met her in person but my TA was great which made the labs a lot better. The final was hard but not impossible. She is known to curve down but my grade didn't change with any curve so it can be fine. The final was really weird and many equations were unbalanced. Overall it was fine and you'll survive.
I thought I was going to end up with a B+ in this class but ended up doing better. The class is a lot of work but if you take your time doing the work its not bad. She is really nice, not sure why others are saying the final was difficult if the average was a 75%. I've never taken a chem final with such a high average. She makes it fair.
She was very caring and willing to help me learn what I was doing. She takes the time to listen to her students and I could tell she cared about me improving. I learned so much in this class.
Lab reports took sooo long and she forces the TAs to grade harshly on them. Also all TAs grade differently so your grade depends on your TA. You'll never see pazos unless you go to her office hours but its way more useful to go to your own ta's office hours. The final combines chem 1a and 1b and is pretty hard and then she also downcurves.
