CollegeProf. Shay is one of the best professors I've ever had. She is passionate about the subject she teaches and is obviously dedicated to the success, and most importantly, the education of her students. Very nice professor and offers understandable leeway due to circumstance. Highly recommend. I myself learned a lot and enjoyed doing so.
I was waitlisted for this class. Dr. Shay is the reason why I was able to get off the waitlist. She went straight to the department for a whole week trying to allow more students to take her class. She is truly amazing. Quizzes every week (relatively easy), sections were so much fun, and two essays. One of the easiest EEMB courses at UCSB.
The lecture is beautiful with lots of images. She is nice and friendly, and willing to help them. She created many activities in discussion sections, and They are funny. I attended this course without pressure. 5 online quizzes and no exam. Questions are not easy because she trained your critical thinking. Highly recommend taking her courses.
One of the best professors on campus presence wise. She is very enthusiastic about her topics and is very kind/caring. It's fun to go to lecture there's a lot of active learning and talking to people around you. Teaches in a very straightforward way, making it so much less stressful. The general outline of what she's teaching is very clear!
highly highly recommended. She is amazing and very approachable.
