An introductory course in human evolutionary biology. Natural selection and its genetic basis are used to highlight a variety of human traits. The fossil record is addressed, but the course takes more of an "adaptationist" than a paleontological perspective.

Professor Davison is a really kind and caring professor. I went through a circumstantial emergency and Professor Davison did everything in his power to help me. I am so thankful for his kindness and understanding. Not only is he very respectable but his lectures are great and he truly cares about his students. Put in work and you will get an A.

Professor Davison is not only an awesome professor, but an overall great person. I currently finished everything for his online class during the spring of 2020 (during covid) and he was super accommodating to the current circumstances, which believe it or not, a lot of professors were not. Material itself was not too hard. Overall, great!

The class was online lectures which you then asked questions about which were answered during the in-person lectures by Davison. You can get pretty much all the info you need online. He handled the TA strike and finals being canceled due to Coronavirus really well, which was great. Sections are absolutely useless except to turn in your worksheets.

I took him for Anth145 and he was super helpful, really nice, and caring. The material in the class was very challenging and difficult but his powerpoints were clear and the textbook helped. Office hours were helpful and he made extra hours during finals. There were short essays every week, homework, a take-home midterm, and a research paper.

Very nice professor! He really cared about the material and making sure that we understood it and had adequate time and resources to complete assignments. He was extremely accessible outside of class and held many different office hours to accommodate everyone in the class.

He is honestly such a sweetheart! he makes himself very available to students and literally gave me all the sources to use for my final essay. He'ls super approachable and accommodating. Lectures can get boring but he's passionate about what he teaches and really gives it his all. Don't think we deserve a professor so good. Take him if you can!!
