Although he assigns readings, you don't have to do them. If I could give the difficulty of this class 0.5 instead of 1, I would. He was really chill and you only had to do 4 assignments (500 word writing assignments) that were graded for completion. Attendance was "mandatory" but he never checked. Really chill class.

Best prof ever. If you need upper divs or just are a comm major... TAKE HIM. He is awesome and a great connection for other classes and opportunities. If you are interested in a law future, even better! He is so knowledgeable in that subject and it was awesome taking that class. Textbooks are two books from amazon or pdf's. Super easy and fun class

Prof. Linz is a walking encyclopedia, very knowledgeable, inspirational, and supportive, encouraging students to think critically. Lots of reading and writing, but you will get the full points as long as you do it. Super caring!

Prof Linz really cares about his students and wants us not only to succeed in his class but to learn about society. He has weekly assignments that you get 100% on as long as you attempt with good faith. His discussions + lectures are thought provoking and has changed how I view the world. Papers are lengthy but on interesting topics. Highly rec!

Not sure why all these reviews are negative. I really like Dan. Hes funny but sometimes his lectures can be a bit boring, we are talking about law here so kinda expected. His slides are a bit unorganized as well but if you go to class and pay attention this class is not hard. Study guide is provided and he posts all the lecture slides online!
