CHEM3A . Wilson J J 9 Days Ago

Super chill and funny guy, the lectures are engaging and cover a significant amount of material. That being said the exams were incredibly long with only free response questions. Most people I know either didn't finish or barely finished each exam. Content in class is interesting but the material on the tests different and way more difficult.

Really good professor, but does sometimes go off course, especially when talking about the physics part, but it's not that big of a deal. The tests were fair, and he gave a lot of practice beforehand. He does demonstrations in class, which make it much more interesting and fun. As long as you don't slack off, you're fine.

told us to drop/switch majors if we got below a C on first midterm, topics discussed in lecture went beyond basic chem concepts. lectures were completely unhelpful in terms of preparing us for what would be on the tests

CHEM3A . Wilson J J A Month Ago

This class was atrocious. Compared to chem 1A, way harder and he made the tests super difficult to solve under time constraints. He's a good guy, but not a good teacher. His lectures weren't very helpful in learning but the practice exams were. Test included uncovered topics as well. Would not take him again.

CHEM3A . Wilson J J A Month Ago

Lectures were way easier than exams (LONG EXAMS). Said if you got an average score on midterm, you should drop the class, the second midterm was impossible. He rambled off-topic, office hours were overcrowded, and practice was far easier than exams. Exams were long and hard, morale tanked, many changed majors, class did so bad the curve was huge.
