Professor Eckstein is funny, passionate and caring. However, I felt that even though I studied both the lecture notes and read the textbook throughly, I wasn't totally prepared for all the questions on the test. For the complex (and annoying) concepts in this class, make sure you understand them very well. The participation extra credit saved me!

Professor Eckstein is so intelligent and kind! You can tell he truly knows his stuff and is very passionate about it. BUT, I feel like he doesn't really know how to explain the material in a way that I could personally understand it. I didn't have time to go often bc of scheduling conflicts, but so so helpful during OH! Class= hard be prepared!

He is really good at making complex topics easy to understand, fun and engaging. If you ask questions he will make sure to explain until you understand. He is a charismatic and overall magnetic person. You will definitely remember enjoy his class.

Prof. Eckstein is one of my all time favorite professors that I have had at UCSB. He truly truly cares about his students and wants them to learn. Lectures are very engaging and super important to go to, not graded on attendance but no recordings and will miss alot if missed. The textbook is an easy read and helps alot.

Dr. Eckstein knows his stuff, he cares about his students, and the textbook you read for this class is actually so good. It's the first time I've finished a textbook in my life. It's like funny and makes the concepts in class way more digestible. Vision uses 1/4 of our brain power. Important and interesting stuff to learn!

The class is not easy but prof E really makes the material accessible. I got super sick for 2 weeks and missed a good chunk of classes and he was super helpful. I read the textbook and then went into his office hours where he gave me the lectures over again essentially. I dont think the class is easy but prof E really cares about student success.
