Demography seminar research/reading group that focuses on reading and discussing key research in demography across the participating disciplines (Anthropology, Economics, Geography and/or Sociology). All students in the Interdisciplinary PhD Emphasis in Demography must register in this group at least once, usually in the spring quarter of their first year in the Emphasis program.
Very unorganized and a lot of uneccesary busy work. I stopped coming to class around week 3 and did fine.

Graded by 5 quizzes, in-class assignments (open and close for the duration of class, but can be completed anywhere), an in-depth interview, and a paper. The prof is very passionate about immigration, but did not present the material well at all. When she lectured it was confusing and other days she played films or had a guest. Offers extra credit.

The professor was whatever. Not very organized, always messed up due dates, and was not very accessible. There were 2 TAs; unfortunately, the one I had was also not very good. She was never clear but tough at grading. I would never take a class with her again. She's a sweet lady, but not a very good lecturer.

She gives about 5% of extra credit out so that's a huge plus ik a few people who got over 100% in this class. Big. impacts are buying the textbook, 2 research papers (Quant & Qual), and 2 attempt online quizzes. Lecture isn't too important to attend very skippableThere are in-class assignments but you can just do them at home. Quant paper is hard
