CollegeDecent person but a bad teacher. Lectures are mostly rambling, which makes her seem unprepared. Exams have 30+ MCQs plus 2 FRQs in about 65 minutes - way too much. She skips through content, assuming we're experienced CPAs, leaving gaps in learning. Tests are stressful and fast-paced. Avoid this class and take it with someone else if you can.
If you do the practice Brief Exercises, read the textbook, and attend lectures and discussion section, you will be alright.
Required calling on students randomly in class and going around to solve a problem (introvert nightmare). Doesn't explain foundational 3A/3B concepts adequately for transfer success. Tests are difficult, lectures are anxiety-inducing and scattered. Nice person, but wait for a different prof for the 136 series, or prepare to self-study constantly.
Not a great teacher the teacher stucture is kind of a mess. I would recommend fulkerson or harmon instead for 136A. I averaged like 90 on the tests but the Wileyplus was single try and it was really unclear what you needed to know for the pop quizzes and i missed one entirely bc it was online without warning unlike the 2 prior. Good TA needed
(138A) Russell is point blank a bad teacher. She failed to set clear expectations as to the content we needed to know and threw two projects at us right before finals week. She gave a large volume of practice questions (with no solutions) that partly covered content we were never tested on. Avoid Russell at all costs/ take this through CC instead
dropped her for a different professor, she was okay, started class with a worksheet and made random people fill in the blanks by calling on them, made accounting really dreadful to learn honestly, dropped within the first week
