CollegeHe is very funny and brings such a great vibe to lecture! Though the class was disorganized. We were not always on the same track as the syllabus which is a con for someone like me who likes to set deadlines and organize myself. 2 book reviews and a final project. A lot of reflections and zines.
Took in summer 24. Professor was fine but the TA was AWFUL. Spent so long on my essay and met with TA to discuss & check I was on the right path. TA was useless, referred me to the rubric, and didn't want to have a conversation. I was just hoping to build rapport since it was online. The quizzes also dropped my grade a little but beware TA grading!
Wonderful lectures, I truly learned so much. The workload is relatively high but manageable, and all of it is actually really interesting. If you have an opportunity to take one of her classes, definitely do!
Prof. DasGupta is wonderful. She has a lot of experience with hands-on activism. All assignments were writing projects and he is very accessible outside of class. You can email her drafts and she will give you feedback. Most lectures are based on his experiences and class discussion. Lectures get more fun as more people engage in discussion.
Good professor who really makes you think. The course is very reading heavy but you can get by from just skimming (I don't recommend it but I did it so lol)
She is a trans studies scholar in South Asia. There is a lot of global transgender identity readings for the class. Reflection writing, book reviews and a final project. I loved that he used Zines & creative materials. Professor is very supportive of students and funny too
