This seminar delves into the historical roots of California’s homelessness crisis and encourages students to think critically about enacted as well asproposed interventions to aid the unhoused. Through guided discussions, guest lectures by local housing experts, and a community service field trip, students will gain a sense of justified hope, rooted in a belief that this crisis can and will change through collective effort. Just as importantly, this course will humanize and debunk myths about those experiencing homelessness, fostering much-needed empathy and compassion among the next generatioon of changemakers.
