Professor Aili is genuinely one of the most caring professors at ucsb. She is very easy to talk to and wants her students to succeed. She uses specs grading which makes the class stress free but you still learn a lot about writing. Readings are interesting and assignments can be fun if you make them fun. Take her for writing 2 if you can!

One of the kindest and most supportive instructors I've had. Her course is well-structured, readings are engaging, and she truly cares about students. Emails are answered quickly, office hours are welcoming, and the workload is reasonable. Such a sweet professor! uses SPEC grading and is so understanding and kind. The assignments are simple and she is very easy to reach over email! Very good teacher I recommend her :) definitely my favorite this quarter.

Professor Aili has a very engaging course! No midterm or final exams except there are two writing projects but she gives you assignments to prepare for them and time to work on them during class. There is a online textbook and she follows a "specs grading criteria".
