CollegeMath 8 with Professor Garfield is not easy but he provides as much help as possible. He hosts five office hours a week and you will be able to get help almost everyday of the week. HWs are slightly challenging but tests are fair. He also taught at Harvard for many years and he's just a great Professor.
If you have homework or lecture that you don't understand, he has lots of office hours every week. He has zoom every night before the homework is due. You can ask him all the questions that you don't understand. He is very helpful.
Peter is a really nice guy. He made the material fun to learn, however, he doesn't delve too deep into things so make sure you're reading the text and going to office hours. Not too consistent with getting tests back on time which is a bit frustrating. Ashwin is a tough grader.
He's the man! Made the classroom very inviting and encouraged collaboration on the journey to proofs and higher math. Was always fair and helpful when I went in to office hours. There is 3 homeworks / week which is randomly graded for accuracy, but it's mostly fair. Definitely makes you think and work together but I learned the stuff well.
Professor Garfield 's class is a very challenging. His hmwks are challenging and require a deep understanding of the material. He's a great teacher when he prepares and he gives his students a ton of help during his crucial office hours. I would give Peter a 5/5 if he returned tests before the last 2 weeks and didn't forget to prepare for class.
This class is extremely rigorous and demanding. There is a homework due every lecture. Notes were always on handouts given in class. Expect to go to office hours every week to get help on homework and topics. The class is very stressful, but if you put in the work and show you care, your overall grade will reflect it and the class was curved
