Course covers the fundamentals and current state of the art of 3D cryogenic electron microscopy, the theory and a diverse set of applications: 3D single particle methods, correlative light and electron microscopy & cryogenic in situ tomography; provides a solid foundation for 3D cryo-EM and an opportunity to network with the cryo-EM community; features lecturers and renowned leaders in the field presenting their work, interactive and practical exercises: basic sample handling, sample preparation protocols & an introduction to computational analysis on a preselected dataset. Course requirementsreading classic and/or representative papers, presenting papers prior to respective lectures and a final written report on a chosen cryo-EM topic.
