This course explores the intersection between politics and the environment in the Global South. Students will engage with current theoretical debates and empirical research about how political variables affect environmental quality. Topics include, among others, the politics of energy transition, air and water pollution, land use and deforestation, the impact of extractive industries, and global environmental justice.
