CollegeGallucci's retiring by the end of this school year, but I'm glad to have gotten a chance to take a class of his while I had the opportunity to. Really easy, he's really caring, and he made the class very enjoyable. He'll go down as a legendary professor here at UCSB.
Grade 50% final, 40% midterm, 10% essay. Tests all multiple choice. Worst for learning, best for easy A. If you want an easy GE, take it 100% recommended. He seems very tired every lecture, and almost always appears for lectures late. Holds review sessions before tests that help. Lectures very disorganized. Nobody knows what's going on.
Professor Gallucci is amazing. I really enjoyed his class. I learned so much about archeology Early Bronze age to the hellenistic period. I can now recognize pottery, sculpture and architectural styles. His lectures are enjoyable. He is very knowledgable. He deserves a teaching award for his dedication. Highly recommend! Best professor at ucsb.
Gallucci understands that his students are just there for a gen ed, so he makes it easy. He's pretty much incoherent during lectures, but it doesn't really matter. Just go over the study guide and cram for a day or two before the midterm and final, and you'll get an easy A. Take a class with Gallucci if you want an easy gen ed.
Take this if you want an easy A, not if you want to learn. There are short lists of certain things you need to memorize but it's simple if you catch some of the few lecture slides he puts up briefly. Tests are multiple choice, super easy if you have a general grasp of the material & common sense. Boring lecturer & flaky during office hours.
Class was boring. Textbook was expensive but you needed the pictures inside for tests. This class was such a drag, but if you study the tests are doable and the extra credit is about 10%. Can't hate him though because he gave me an A for talking to him and playing a sport. His classes are usually easy As but this one was slightly harder. slightly
