Really nice lady but poorly structured class. Weekly 4-6 page essays and two field trips to LA- one required. Lectures had very little bearing on the course itself but attendance was mandatory. Sections were just sitting around not speaking and waiting for it to be over.

Took her as the last GE to graduate in spring. She forgot to switch my section at start of quarter and was content to fail me for turning in work to “the wrong TA”. TA didn't help + denied my participation until I emailed the department head with proof. Not a bad person just lack of awareness. Nearly cost me grad school + future. Not worth the risk

3-5 page paper due every single week with a 10 page research paper final. So much work for no good reason, but really easy grading if you turn everything in and meet the page requirements. Lectures are pointless but attendance is mandatory as they'll drop your grade a whole letter if you have to many absences. Easy grading but wouldn't do it again.

Professor Tashcian is a bit all over the place when it comes to lectures, so it can be hard to take notes. Readings are mandatory as you have weekly summaries.
