She was an easy grader. Very lenient and gets along well with the students (she likes to joke and have fun). She is energetic and loud. Attendance wouldn't be mandatory but then you'll miss class assignments. Directions get confusing but she works it out with you. Awesome teacher! Have fun, wish she didn't retire.
Very nice. Very helpful if you talk to her personally, she'll understand and help you in everyway possible. Easy A. You don't need to turn in homework or even pass the quizzes to get an A. Such a nice small person. But don't take advantage of her!
Very interesting course about the korean drama phenomenon.
she'll give you an A no matter what. unless, you miss her class an absurd amount, like weeks in a row. ... she'll give you an A-. or, sometimes a B+.
i really liked her for other classes because she is really nice and she does care for her students a lot. but honestly she plays favoritism like no other. in kor 127a her lectures aren't planned and her teaching style is horrible. she may be a nice person but not a very good teacher. she doesn't even know the material she's "teaching"
In my opinion she has been the best professor I have encountered so far. She really does care that you learn something from her class. Very approachable and friendly.
To the kid who left her 1/1/1/1/1.. i think i have an idea who you are. I think your ratings are a bit biased since the ratings are meant for the classroom settings, not personal life. I have taken her classes for 4 yrs and she was nothing but helpful.
I am thankful that I got to know her and got comfortable enough to talk to her about anything. She is really helpful and wants you to do well in her class. The quizzes may be torturous but they help you greatly towards the final.
She is very open-minded and understanding.. very funny too... Her class is definately a class worth going to... if not to learn then to laugh... I hope my wife will be like her when she turns her age
Probably one of the nicest teachers at UCSB. She cares about her students a lot and makes sure that you understand the material. I feel sorry for her when her students don't take her seriously.
The class is pretty easy. Make sure you keep up on the readings/handouts. The teacher is the sweetest thing you will ever come in contact with. She is always happy and is very willing to help students out. Take her class.
Easiest teacher in the entire planet. The course material is very interesting. Take this class if you want to learn something about Korea but don't feel like doing any of the work. Nicest teacher with a lot of interesting anecdotes.
She's great fun but she's getting a little carried away with her pop quizzes. She also seems to favor the Korean students. It kind of hard when you don't speak korean and everyone is speaking korean.

Of course she gets such good ratings. Her class is easier to get an A than a class in kindergarden. They need to re-evaluate if she should be teaching at a Univerisity because she leaves during tests and students cheat on her easy test. Too much leeway
Very nice and understanding teacher. Class is easy and she lets you do make ups for tests.
She's the best teacher i've ever had (so far)at UCSB. She is very enthusiastic and forms a personal bond with all of her students. great sense of humor and really cares about the students and their education!
