Bob is freaken awesome. I've taken 5 writing classes at UCSB and Bob sits above the rest. He is very clear, an incredibly effective teacher, and super understanding. He is funny and entertaining as well. Definitely take a class with him even if you've fulfilled your writing reqs already. Top 3 professor I've ever had probably
Bob was an excellent instructor who designed his class very well. All of his assignments pertained to the giant research paper due at the end of the quarter, which helped immensely. He really breaks down the whole writing process which makes everything much easier and less daunting. He is very reasonable and available outside of class for questions
I was dreading taking writing 50, but I absolutely loved his class. All the assignments are relevant to the final 10 page paper due at the end of the quarter, which made writing the paper at the end a breeze. Would recommend his class to anyone who needs to take writing 50. He's also super funny which is a plus.
One of the nicest, sweetest, and most understanding professors on campus. If you get things done on time, you will get a good final grade. His assignments are fun and not hard at all. He will answer any questions you got, almost immediately. Bob, is AWESUM :)
Great guy. Goes a little too easy on students at times, but only because he wants everyone to feel comfortable in class. For the most part he knows what he's talking about.

Very nice guy. If you do all the work (submitting work online by midnight) and show up to every class, you'll be fine. I barely tried and still got an A. Just do whatever he says and you're good to go. :)
Great teacher!! Very helpful and made class fun and interesting to go to. Only 3 papers, which he guided us through step by step. Highly recommend him! I would like to take more classes of his.
The class was ok, usually we took notes about better writing or watched videos for the class topic. I hate how he made us turn in assignments online by midnight that night. (we ended at 9pm) He doesn't grade so easily, I asked him every little detail about my papers and some how got a B+. Expect to do a 10-page paper by the end of the quarter too.
My favorite teacher I have had so far at UCSB. He makes 8am class fun to go to. You get to write your papers on any movie of your choice and he is funny and extremely helpful.
This teacher is and will always be one of my most favorite teacher of all time. He is helpful, he is crystal clear when lecturing, and he funny. Never once bored in class, and never once did I struggle. Learned a lot. Definitely recommend. I have taken him for Writ 1 , and Writ 2 and he was good in both. Awesome professor.
He was such an awesome instructor for writing! The topic was interesting which helped a lot. He was extremely funny and was the greatest help whenever you needed it. We wrote a 10 page paper, but he brings you through each step so clearly that the end essay was a breeze! Definitely choose him for WRIT 50! :]
Great teacher, funny, genuinely nice guy. He was passionate and knowledgeable about the material which rubbed off on everyone and made the class fun. There was a lot of work for a summer class, but he graded easy/fair. Definitely worth taking.
TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!! Seriously, take this class. He basically feeds you an A if you ask for help. Interesting material too and the business plan really isn't that bad! Take it.
Bob is one of the best professors I've had at UCSB. He is a genuinely good guy, nice, down to earth, and always willing to go out of his way to help. You can tell he actually wants his students to learn and do well. The class is interesting and organized so that the final research paper is easily constructed. You will not regret taking his class!
Nicest and funniest teacher I've ever had. Made class enjoyable. Kind of a lot of work, but all of it worthwhile (no busy work) and he is ALWAYS there to help.
bob is a wonderful professor. he's' nice and helpful. the class requires a lot of work but i had fun doing all the research. i learned a lot in his class. recommend to take writing 50 with him.
Great teacher!!! He is very clear about what he wants and funny! I took his 8am class and really enjoyed it even at 8am.This is not to say that he is really esay though, this was challenging and there is a team project that take alot of time. But he is the one to take the class from,totally reasonable and very helpful! I highly recommend him!
really good teacher, do the assignments and you'll be fine, do you're section of the business plan, and come to class, no midterms and final is a 10 min quiz, great class and u learn alot too..def reccomended

Hilarious, good-natured, laid-back (personality-wise) professor. But he evens this out by running a pretty tight ship. Don't be fooled, Bob is strict! But it makes the class so much more worthwhile. I learned a lot. Definitely take his class.

Bob is amazingly nice and helpful. I was able to take a week of school off to recover from my surgery and resume class with no worries and still got an A in the class! Take his class!
