He is a fair grader, his tests are all long responses but he gives a lot of partial credit. He is very helpful during office hours. Just do all your book problems and attend lecture/office hours and you should be fine.

Professor Nathan made this course harder than I thought it would be. First of all, his tests are composed of only free response. He is the only chemistry professor on campus who does this. He talks way too fast which makes keeping up difficult and to make matters worse, his lectures often have mistakes that he does not catch until he is teaching.

He's awful to the point where I come out of his class more confused than I was when I went in. His test are way harder than the other Chem 1A teachers. He doesn't provide any practice tests or worksheets and his recommended textbook problems didn't match up as well to the test as they could have been.

Having little experience with chemistry in high school, jumping into his class was extremely difficult. There were constantly mistakes in lecture slides that he didn't catch before presenting, and this combined with his fast talking made taking notes very confusing. I'm retaking Chem 1A next quarter solely because I couldn't keep up.

The class was really hard, had a hard time keeping up with ANY of the information. Would not take again.
