I really liked him. He knows what to say basically the entire lecture, referring to his notes maybe once or twice. He explains things really well. Homework load is moderate. I actually enjoyed his tests.

I really like him. He always has a clear idea of what he wants to say for the entire lecture, referring to his notes maybe once or twice. His proofs are easy to understand. Homework is manageable. I went to office hours twice.

Math 8 is known for being a difficult class, but I wouldn't rather have taken it with any other professor. He has such a way of lecturing difficult topics that makes them very easy to understand. The workload was very light, with only 5-10 homework problems a week. Sanjay Kumar is a shining star in the night sky at the UCSB Math department.

Rigorous teaching from elementary part to advanced level. Amazing observation and explanation from geometry meaning and topology meaning. Knowledgeable professor ! !

Wonderful lectures with clear notes, homework once a week, two midterms, and one final. The lowest homework can be dropped. Very nice professor.

His lectures are very clear and he teaches the content very well. I appreciated how he uploaded his lecture notes onto GauchoSpace. His practice exam questions are amazing. As long as you are able to do all the practice, you will be good for the exam. There is a quiz almost every week, but they are fairly easy. I never went to office hours.

Go to class, go to office hours, and make sure to do practice problems from the textbook (even though they are not assigned) and you should be fine. Tests have a decent amount of partial credit and Kumar is good at explaining stuff in lecture. Also, go to his office hours, and he is very nice so don't hesitate to ask any questions.
