very sweet but moves through material fast, lecture participation graded through clicker
Professor Trugman was great in terms of truly wanting you to pass and receive a good grade. She provided thorough lectures, interacted with the class, and knocked several iclicker & quiz grades off in hopes we'd pass. Although, coming from someone who isn't Geography smart whatsoever, prepare to study & ready HEAVILY if you want to pass your exams.
Prof. Trugman was caring and encouraged students to go to office hours. This class was pretty difficult due to the content of it. If you want an easy GE this is not it. There were two midterms, one on tectonic activity, ITCZ, climograph, and the other on soils, stream activity, weathering processes, and one cumulative final; glaciers+ biogeography.
Anna Trugman really knows her material and is very caring for her students. She was going pretty fast in her lectures but it is understandable. Provides extra credit when the class asks her to. Prepare for weekly quizzes and assignments outside of class via online. No cheat sheet for exams; therefore, you have to study the material.
Tests are WAY harder than practice tests!!!! She goes very fast during lecture, but does post the slides. There is a ton of content and the questions on the tests ask for the most minuscule details that are not emphasized on the slides or in lecture. Didn't add any grades for participation for lecture until after the final was over!!!!!
Fantastic teacher and really great lecturer. Some of the content was challenging but she was very available and helpful during office hours.
Her lectures and assignments were straightforward and interesting. It was cool to read recent papers from the field.
Took this class online so it was very easy to get points just do short response and quizzes, but tests were ridiculous. She provides study guides that barely relate to the actual test questions. Midterms and finals were way more specific than she led on and was way too much info to be able to memorize. Would not take her again.
Good teacher makes this intro course really interesting, and very doable for someone who was not familiar with geography before.
She is a new professor here but she really knows her stuff well. A very approachable person and really cares about the students. She explained everything very clear and in good organization. Online labs were like exercise that were helpful to exams. Open book and open notes, easy A if you complete everything.
I am not a huge fan of physical geography, but professor Trugman made it so interesting! I really loved her teaching style and I think she was extremely understanding considering the current circumstances. She is very generous about grading, so I believe this class is easy if you put in the effort!
She never make clear with the extra credit. She said she will give 3 points extra credit if 80% write the survey. When students assume the 3 points extra credit is adding to the final grade out of 100. She emailed after everyone complete the survey that the extra credit is 3 out of 1000 course point, which is 0.3 to 100. :))))
her extra credit matters nothing that just takes up a decimal out of overall course grade.
Prof Trugman is new but there were really no problems at all with the class structure. 3 exams, 10 quizzes, 5 assignments (basically longer quizzes), and section attendance make up the grade. She is kind and approachable, and the class is organized well enough so that passing is easy. Didnt read textbook and got a B+ easily. Easy A if you read it.
