You know, I took this class well over a year ago and he still makes me angry. This guy would be better suited narrating a video of paint drying than teaching. K.C., what are you doing, why would you do this, is it too much to ask for lecture notes, or even intelligible lectures? I still want the results back from the final! Please stop teaching >:(

All midterms and the final is very similar to the practice exam, but you still need some self study to get a good grade in this course.

A+ Pros: Homework is at most 6 problems a week, practice tests are identical to tests, no participation grade, funny and caring man Cons: No online materials/notes (can't skip class), thicker accent, unorganized lecture topics are not coordinated with sections of the book, Final was worth 50%, cannot solo homework, sections teach nothing relevant

Honestly a lot of people did not like this class because it was not taught like other UCSB math classes. KC is extremely passionate about math and if you go to office hours you will gain a very in depth understanding of the material. Unfortunately 6A is a requirement for a lot of majors, ones that don't necessarily need that depth of understanding.

This is by far the worst math professor at UCSB. There was 3 courses for Math 6A being taught, the other two were maxed out, this one had 32 spots open. Avoid this professor at all costs.

He is one of the best teachers I've had! Well prepared for class and always ready to answer questions. Very passionate about the subject. Reasonable assignments and exams. Takes a minute to warm up to his students but committed to providing a good overall class experience.

Homework 19/20; midterm1 is the same as practice problems 20/20; midterm2 had 1 tricky question 13/20(me forgetting key formulas); final is take home due to coronavirus and the whole course is curved to roughly30%A 40%B. Dont take his course if you cannot understand his Heavy Indian accent. Reading the UCSB 6A6B Book is better than him teaching.

Takes off random points for small things. class is graded on a curve and never released grade distributions so no one knows how theyre doing.

He's from IIT, a top uni in India. A lot of people hate him, but he was a decent professor. Yes his accent was kinda annoying and his handwriting wasn't the best, but his tests were completely reasonable. Homework was just the right amount of challenging. He is a really nice guy at office hours and will answer any and all of your questions.

Was the best professor ever, and probably why I regained my passion for math in general. He was very friendly during office hours and you could tell he was passionate about what he was teaching. I enjoyed his class would definitely take it again.

The professor deducts grades of your exam based on your false but ignoring what you did right. Even though you work hard, he does not give you the hope to get good grades.

Hard exam: one of the question from midterm is to ask you to prove Eulers theorem which he never mentioned in class before. If I can prove this theorem, this theorem would be called my name + theorem, ok? Boring lecture, the professor never prepare for the class. He just wrote down plenty of definitions with elusive meaning.

Worst professor. He is smart but knows nothing about teaching. Everyone can barely understand his accent and sometimes when a student asks a question, he doesn't even understand what he or she is saying. The other students have to answer for that student. When I went to his office hour to see my tests, he was very impolite. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS

This teacher is one of the hardest teachers to communicate outside of the classroom, he has a bad attitude towards students that go to his office hour, this teacher has good knowledge but he is just such a bad lecturer. Avoid this teacher at all cost, having coronavirus is probably better than having this teacher as your professor

The worst ucsb professor out here(also the worst professor ever in my life). Extremely mean to the students and would never listen to any feedback from students. NEVER CHOOSE HIM, PLEASE

He's the worst teacher I've ever had in my academic life. Completely unrelated to his accent, he has communication troubles and most things he says are filled with 'MaTheMaTiCalLy RigOrOuS' notation and typos, which he then has trouble explaining

He makes things way more complicated than they have to be. He doesnt like student feedback given by the class and is very difficult to talk to. Avoid him if you can. Lectures are hard to follow.

Attendance not mandatory but only writes on the blackboard and never uploads anything. Terrible handwriting and accent. Homework never fits any pattern. Avoid him at all cost.

MATH6B . 4 Years Ago

Do not take his class. All HW and tests require formal proof, and the average are low. You would not understand his lectures, because his handwriting is bad and he has a strong accent. Just avoid his class.

The hw and exams were graded toughly. The exam is 50min and we need to do 4 problems in total with lots of math works. It is impossible to finish them all. The mean was 11 out of 20 for our first MT. The lecture is hard to follow because of his accent and awful handwriting. He made lots of mistakes in lecture, which makes it harder to understand.
