Professor was awful. She said her class average should be a B pretty much stating students will not and should not get a A in her class. TA grades harsh with no explanation. Would never take again.
She is so fun to hear a lecture from! I genuinely enjoyed listening to her talk. Tests are online and still were rather tricky and ended up doing worse on them than I expected, but thankfully she offers extra credit opportunities.
Super nice, knows her stuff, uses plenty of mnemonics, and her lectures are clear. Exams were online and you could easily look everything up (2+ minutes/question), so great for an easy A (a plurality of the class got an A+), but not great for motivating you to study. Her voice isn't boring but may put you to sleep if you're not careful/caffeinated.
Dr. Taylor is great! She really cares about her students and is pretty funny. However, she also has a bit of a quiet, monotone voice which makes some people sleepy during lecture. It's not too bad, though! And she records all of her lectures and has all open-book exams, which is nice.
Lectures are packed with information and pretty fast - she goes more in depth than what you actually need to know for the tests. Two midterms and final were a little tricky, doable but needed to study a lot. Extra credit offered, and a little easy reading response can help boost your grade. She was a very cool professor.
In the move to in-person learning, she was very understanding and willing to sacrifice her time for her students. Zoom lectures were fun and entertaining and even when we moved into the lecture hall she encouraged as many questions as possible. She also really tried to keep the class engaged. Definitely recommend.
Clear lectures, fair exams, and extra credit.
I truly enjoyed taking this professor’s class. I was able to learn a lot about cognition with little stress as there were many opportunities for extra credit.
Great Prof! I enjoyed her lectures and she uses examples that are easy to understand the more abstract concepts. Clear lectures and easy midterms, there's 2 and a final. There's also extra credit opportunities. Definitely take her if she's teaching cognitive psy!
Lectures are clear and exams are straightforward. She gives multiple opportunities for extra credit, too.
SO nice and wants you to pass
Professor Taylor finds a balance between actually learning and achieving a more than fair class. They are incredibly considerate and want students to succeed.
If I knew what her class was like, I wouldn't have taken it. Her grading scale is super unfair. I have never taken a psych class where the bottom 20% of a grade gets curved down. Seriously don't take her
She's a very nice lady, but she's terrible at explaining things. Asking for clarification will only leave you more confused, and she isn't even able to explain the subject herself half the time. Her tests are extremely difficult and she uses a weird grading system. Don't take her
She is a very sweet and a kind professor. Her lectures are very interactive and hilarious. She doesn't describe the topics in a way that someone with no prior knowledge would be able to understand. When asking for clarification she will only confuse you even more. Her test are extremely difficult if you have no prior knowledge you will fail.
