Keiflin's topic can be hard to keep up with, so make sure you are very interested in behavioral psychology research and the history. He really wants his students to engage with him and his lectures, so ask many questions! Very straightforward questions on tests, just take good notes, check with him when concepts don't make sense.

Class was super interesting and I enjoyed the material but the lectures were super boring partly because it was a WF 9:30AM class. The midterm rocked a lot of people but the final was super reasonable. Wouldn't say it's an easy A but if you keep up with the material, you'll do just fine. 40% midterm 40% final 20% quizzes based on lecture material

Professor Keiflin was so awesome, I had to come and write a review. He genuinely cares about his students and how they understand the material. The lecture may be boring and very conceptual, where it is hard to understand, but if you consistently attend lectures and genuine try to understand the content, you will be just fine.

best prof ever!! He teaches in a way that makes things understandable and as long as you understand the lectures you are set for the tests/quizzes. He has the book provided which isn't necessary for exams but reinforces learning.

Okay, the lectures were SO boring. Can't blame him tho; The material just wasn't for me. I don't know how you can make conditioning into a ten-week class. Got repetitive. Regardless, he's a good professor and his exams are pretty straightforward. Weekly quizzes 20%, midterm 37.5%, final 37.5%, participation (forum posts) 5%. Definitely easy.

Keiflin is undoubtedly THE BEST professor ever! His exams are not tricky or ambiguous which I really appreciate, so if you study you will do great. He provides online videos to watch before the lecture which are so helpful to solidify the material. His lectures are great and engaging with many great examples to explain the material.

Nice and clear professor. Material is not as boring as I thought it would be. As with any psych class, you obviously need to study to do well on the tests. Don't need to read the book AT ALL, He only tests on what is covered in lecture so just study that. No time limit open-note quizzes open for a week online with unlimited attempts (ez points).

The man is fine. His smooth french drawl never failed to lull me to sleep. What's ironic is that i took motivation (psy122) but for the life of me i could not find the motivation to stay awake. I swear i'm not even a simp. His voice is just deliciously sleep-inducing. Deepest sleep i had in years. Will be missed

really nice guy, explained the article really well. class consisted of a paper summary of an article, quizzes on weekly articles, and a group presentation. easy class, also clarified some stuff that was useful for other upper div psych classes

The material can be a bit confusing but the lectures are fairly clear and if you go over them a couple of times you should be good. Grade is based on a midterm, final, and weekly quizzes. Some of the quiz questions show back up on the exams. Very chill class!

Grade was based on one midterm (40%), one final (40%), and weekly quizzes (40%). The concepts for this course are complex but I found the exams and quizzes to be straight out the lecture which is nice. I would recommend taking him instead of other professors but def study the material and you should get an A. Quiz question repeated for exams! Easy!

Concepts were complex but Prof. Keiflin did a great job of thoroughly explaining the concepts and providing good examples/analogies. He's also available for questions during class meetings and makes sure to clear up any confusion. Really straightforward class and tests are based entirely on lectures! Enjoyed this class and would take w him again

Concepts are difficult to grasp in class so you will most likely need to spend time going over the studies on your own. The prof is very nice and is more than happy to help answer any questions you have. This is one of those classes that if you study what he says, youll do well. Very straight forward

Prof. Keiflin is one of my favorite professors I've had at UCSB. I had him during remote instruction and was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of teaching. The topics we covered were so interesting (addiction, motivation, model-based learning...). Loved every paper he assigned. Fair grader. He's so smart!

I had Dr. Keiflin during the covid-19 remote instruction, and he really set himself apart from the other professors I have had in many ways. He genuinely cares for his students and just wants you to learn. If you put in the effort, you will leave the course learning a lot and not stressing about your grade. One of the nicest Professors I have had!

Sure material is boring, but he really tries to make it understandable to students. The material super simple and easy to understand, you just have to try. He does get a bit confusing when explaining things, but its because hes really trying to come up with relatable analogies that students can understand. Would recommend him 100% to anyone

Dr. Keiflin gave his best shot at teaching our class the material. I took his class during his first quarter at UCSB and I think he thought we had prior knowledge on Cond and Learning when most of us didn't. The test was a little difficult, but doable if you go to lecture and study lecture slides. Think big picture and like the rat in the study.

Overall, decent at explaining concepts, but can occasionally be confusing. He does make a lot of effort to re-explain concepts you don't initially get and is friendly in office hours. Material is tricky, but he curved and gave EC to boost everyone's grades. Book isn't necessary, just study the lecture slides. One midterm and non-cumulative final.

Class material is dry af but you get what you signed up for LOL. It's a hard class but if you go to his office hours he's pretty nice and walks you through concepts you don't understand.

Worst professor I have had at my time at UCSB. He cannot explain anything, even if you try to ask him so specify something. Content is already boring, but he makes the class even worse. Don't take this class!
