He is not a good teacher.

Avetisyan is pretty helpful when you go to his office hours but just by attending lectures and doing hw, there is NO way you'll have any idea what's going to be on his exams. He can sometimes be condescending when explaining answers and his final exam was full of material we had never seen before in lecture, hw, or the textbook. Take someone else.

Bad at teaching and organizing the syllabus

Went to lecture first half of the quarter only to give up going because I lost any ability to learn any information during lecture. His style of lecturing is very hard to understand and is not very open to helping students. Only reason I got a decent grade in this class is; 1) took calc 1 prior , 2) TA did a great job teaching/explaining, 3) CLAS

Professor Avetisyan might need to be more organized with his method of teaching. He rants, at best. However, the class is nicely curved to where a C is 62-69%. Attend CLAS, do homework problems, and the practice tests and you might do great! Do the bare minimum, and receive a lower grade.

Not the best professor in general. If you have questions about the homework, you don't anymore. He won't answer your question but instead, ridicule you. Doesn't explain concepts well, and many times works through problems in lecture just to get the wrong answer. Overall, if you want to pass the class just study on your own.

Lectures a bit over complicated as he goes into the specifics of theory. You can skip lecture and go to CLAS and section and you'll be fine, as long as you do the homework and understand it. He is more than willing to answer any questions, and his exams are exactly like the study guide.

Class is hard to understand, so the number of students attending class is becoming less for every lecture. Besides, when I send emails with questions on homework, he is not willing to answer my questions. He keeps asking me questions with the email and kind of blaming me for I cannot solve the problem. It feels really bad and humiliating.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Without question the worst professor I've ever had. I'm not over exaggerating I mean that literally. The average on the first midterm was 18%. EIGHTEEN PERCENT. He's failing people because he enjoys it.

Class not quite as explicit as possible to understand, and he is sooooooooo nice and patient.

It's not that Dr. Avetisyan is a bad professor, it's that I don't think he was a good fit for the way this class was taught. From a technical point of view his lectures are actually really intuitive, and he was pretty accommodating of questions. However, his tests have nothing to do with homework, and the class wasn't reflective of other classes

This class is extremely hard in his teaching style. His lectures are really confusing since he uses mostly numbers and greek letters on the blackboard, it is hard to find any sentence in English. Half of the remaining class failed. The tests he gives has nothing related to the HW. But he is a really nice person, and accessible outside the class.

The exams are graded heavily and the materials are very hard. However, he is a very nice person who spend an hour or more extra time to teach us after class. He also gives me different opportunities to make my grade better even though most of the students failed his class. But he is a very nice guy with no doubt.
