I recently had the unfortunate experience of enrolling in a class taught by a self-proclaimed English teacher, and I must say it was a regrettable decision. Despite the impressive price tag attached to the course, the quality of education I received was far from satisfactory.

Super kind and accommodating and helped me improve my writing. She didnt give us busy work and made the class as easy as possible on Zoom. If you see her teaching anything take her class.

Giorgina cares a lot about her students and gave us freedom on projects to write about what we like. Hope to take another class with her in the future!

Giorgina was a kind professor and graded fairly. However, she didn't provide great feedback on how to improve and rather just complemented one's work. She also didn't grade finals and instead just put in the letter grade... maybe she expected students to continue their work but I would've appreciated more feedback. Overall easy class.

She's honestly one of the best professors I've had at UCSB. She's so genuine and caring and clearly so passionate about what she does. She gives great feedback on writing projects as well. I learned so much from her class and you definitely will too. Don't take her for granted just because it's an easy class. You will learn so much from her.

Initially I didn't want to put effort into the class since it's a GE but she's just //too// good. One of the best professors I've had. She gave us a lot of freedom w/ projects and really sets you up for success. She also gives amazing feedback so take advantage of that! I HIGHLY recommend taking a class with her.

Giorgina is a wonderful instructor and person! She is very knowledgeable in her field and in general, as well as being highly engaging and responsive to questions and thoughts in and out of class. She is also very kind, supportive, and funny! I sincerely believe I could count on her support if, for example, my yard was invaded by 30-50 feral hogs

Professor Paiella is by far one of the best professors I've come across throughout my academic career at both CC & UCSB. She wants to see her students succeed and her passion for teaching really shows in class! Super understanding & I wish more professors were like her! Take advantage of her office hours, be engaging in class, and you'll do great!

Extremely kind and caring, and wishes for all of her students to succeed. I don't like 18th c. literature, but she definitely made an effort to make class fun/interesting through her assignments. I do wish she gave more of an incentive to read, like scheduled quizzes, so that class participation would be higher. All in all, she's an absolute gem!

Giorgina is enthusiastic, informed, and passionate about teaching--I don't think I've ever had a teacher university who cared this much about seeing her students succeed. I think I could have put less effort, but she made me want to commit to the assignments, do all the reading, and be proud of my work. I got so much out of this class! 10/10

Giorgina is hands down the BEST professor I have had at UCSB. I took the class as a GE requirement but it made me want to major/minor in English. She is super helpful and accommodates as best as she can for her students. I wish I could've taken more classes with her. She's also very approachable and understanding!

A professor who's truly passionate about her subject and the success of her students. If you're lucky enough to have her for a class take it seriously! She's a blessing.

Great professor! GP does truly care for her students. She does not give busy work! Straight to the point. Do the reading and take the essay assignments seriously and you should be fine. Best English professor at UCSB in my opinion.

She went above and beyond to make the class fun and as enjoyable a GE as possible. I would highly recommend her for any class you see her teaching or TAing. She clearly lays out how shes grading everything and goes out her way to give you the best grade possible.

Giorgina is an awesome professor! Shes young, lively, and keeps the class discussion going with ease and entertainment! She gives phenomenal feedback and truly cares about her students! Truly enjoyed how the class was centered around one novel, rather than a handful of books. It allowed for analyzation through different disciplinary fields.

A literal angel!! She was so considerate of our responsibilities outside of the class while still providing stimulating work. I would 100% take every class she taught
