Organization was kind of confusing, and polices the use of laptops/phones/tablets/any electronic devices for no reason. Very easy class though, just skim the readings and show up to section (lecture optional). Most difficult part about the class was the final project. Make sure to plan that out.

Lectures are entertaining and easy to follow. She doesn't allow laptops in class, but you can ask the TA for permission. The hardest part for me was a final project where we had to find people to interview and film a video. Final is multiple choice and is pretty straightforward. You can easily skim the readings and get by.

Elana was awesome. Class is designed to get you an A (weekly discussion posts, 1 midterm, film project, and online final.) Super engaging, structured lectures, she's super passionate about what she does. Consistent review of key topics and makes it clear what's to be expected on exams - no surprises. Best GE I've taken.

Overall, really easy class. 1 Midterm, film project, and final w discussion posts weekly. Just show up to lecture, review slides, and complete everything and you should get an A. Only thing was the lecture material was skewed to be a bit one sided.

I loved Professor Resnick! She is so passionate about what she does and made the class super manageable. She really makes you see the world from a different perspective. Grading is super easy and the class is just weekly discussion posts, final film project, final exam, and midterm. All were relatively easy to do.

I love professor Resnick. Her class is very manageable, the TAs were very respectful. Midterm, Final, and Final Project (all very easy, the average for the midterm was over 90%). Overall interesting class.

Prof. Resnick is super smart and funny. She will teach you to see the world in a different way. The class is not that hard. I really appreciated how insightful she was and I learned a lot from her. I would definitely take another class with her.

This class was a literal mess, but an easy A? Like, if you did everything, you basically get an A, but the structure of this class was absolutely horrible.

I know a lot of people didn't like the flipped classroom but I personally enjoyed it. The class was overall very easy and I got a 100% overall. Just review slides before the tests, do all the journal entries, and you're set.

The "flipped classroom" was not it. It was not engaging enough for me and sometimes slides would not have enough info or vague. Midterm and final were at least straightforward. Lucky to have a great TA though! Also there is a ridiculous amount of writing involved and no writing credit which is upsetting.

I took this class for a GE and it was very enjoyable. There wasn't much work to do and she is a very nice, understanding person. Each week she would assign about 2 readings which were relatively short, one discussion post, and one journal entry. The midterm and final are very easy as well. 10/10 take a class with her!

She teaches interesting concepts! Also shows music videos to connect to the lessons which I found cool. Midterm and exam are straightforward, make sure you review readings and lectures and youll be good! Very understanding! Take her, you wont regret it.

*COVID version of class* Extremely easy class and exams (almost TOO easy for college?) I do have to agree that the material is overly one-sided w/o any potential counterarguments. Wish she went more in depth on how to solve the societal problems she presents. But she is very kind, understanding, and even admits the class is designed for an A!

This class is extremely easy. Show up, do the readings, and take an easy test. However, the material taught in this class is the worst part. Everything is so one sided in this class and it only teaches you to blame the system and others for your misfortune. You won't actually get something worth learning .

So nice and lectures really well. She really cares about students and doesn't want the class to be too hard. Midterm super easy. Weekly journals about reading. Really focused on wanting us to learn and understand, not stressing us out. Class material also super interesting. Great GE! *took during online '20 spring so might be diff than in person*

Professor Resnick is one of the best professors I've had at UCSB. I took this class to fulfill my GE requirements but I ended up being so invested in the subject! Professor Resnick's lectures are always interesting and eye-opening. She has "Mixtape Mondays" where the class analyzes popular music videos, which is super fun! The readings were fun!

Won't let you use PC's unless you get approval, and does clicker/other activities daily 2 check attendance. Also, won't let you leave until the very last minute of class. Otherwise though, good professor who made the class approachable and as passable as possible. Readings are absolutely doable and not too complex and the project was somewhat fun!

Prof Resnick was the perfect professor! She made every lecture so entertaining. The final and midterm are very straight forward! She wants everyone to pass her class so her tests are easy! Reading helps enforce the material but not always necessary. Instead of a paper we are asked to create an ethnographic film which was fun! 10/10 would recommend!

Prof. Resnick was an awesome Anth 2 prof! She makes her lecture slides very easy to follow and take notes from and she knows the material well. The class readings were optional, but at times appeared on exams. Her goal from the start of the quarter was to ensure it was possible for everyone to get an A... her main focus truly was just us learning.
