I had very little interest in this class but this man is a great teacher. He is pretty funny and doesn't treat the subject as seriously as most history teachers do. He is quite possibly the most knowledgable professor I've had.
Love this professor, very dry sense of humor, but if you're actually listening to him he's quite funny. Very good at explaining things. Really easy to talk to in his office hours and likes to get to know students (I talked to hime once and he always remembered my name afterwards.)
I would like to quote a colleague: "Wow, this guy is boring. I love history but he totally ruined it for me."
An excellent professor whose interest and knowledge of the subject matter allows the student to take or leave as much as they want.
Super boring lecturer and his reading materials are the books that he has written LAME
Hilarious limmericks... too bad he's not that great of a lecturer. Genius man, but just speaks too much in monotone. He seems to know that too since his makes his lectures available via A.S. notes or are taped and available for viewing at Kerr Hall
Wow, this guy is boring. I love history but he totally ruined it for me. When I actually mustered the strength to go to this class, I nearly fell asleep. The TA's were jerks, too. At least he's a nice guy...
I won't lie, history is a boring subject. But McGee's lectures are pretty clear, and correspond to the readings. Also, his limericks rock. I would suggest you avoid this entire class if possible, but if you must take it, go ahead and take it with McGee
very helpful. especially liked his limericks at the end of lectures. clear and easy to follow.
Prof. McGee is a really good professor, especially if you are willing to pay attention in class, he'll drop really funny jokes every once in a while that you wont always catch. The class was a lot of work but worth it if you are interested in history
lecture guideline helpful. he does scatter from the guideline, but if you write down what he says, everything will fall together in the end. great story teller. enjoyed class. TA was harder than McGee.
His lectures are on video---best thing ever! He also helped me out when I was in a bind.
two words: SNORE SNORE! Which is terribly sad since he's a very very intelligent man! Just needs to work on his lectures a bit
LECTURES ARE HARD TO FOLLOW.
this is a very subjective issue. if you're interested in the material of this class, you will find McGee VERY interesting and very insightful. if you're bored by the course content, as most of these people are, obviously his in-depth but made-simple look
Sooooo Boring, lecture hall is always empty, take a different professor for this history class if possible
