Professor Olafsson is very thorough with the material. He really values his students and wants for them to do better. Extremely smart guy! And has a beautiful smile :)

Took Olaffson's PSTAT 109 in the summer session A, overall, I felt he is a great professor, he offers a lot of office hours, as well as a lot of practice problems. MAKE SURE DO ALL THOSE PROBLEM SETS, because he will put one of the questions on the exam.

Very knowledgeable professor. Lectures are easy to understand. Generous with his time outside classes. strongly recommend.

The course is not easy if you are taking it for letter grades. Put effort and work hard then you will be okay. He is really accessible outside the lectures. A good teacher, after all, he knows the materials well.

He is not a good teacher, his lecture slides do not help in the slightest bit and I don't think he understands the concept of explaining things. I hate this class and I don't like this professor.

Good teacher. Laid-back and presents the information clearly. Tests are difficult and my grade suffered because I took this class over the summer with too many other classes; if you have the option, don't take this class in 6 weeks.

Professor Olafsson is one of the better teachers I had in this university. He is super helpful if you go to his office hours and he actually tries to help you to the best he can. Homework, midterm, and final were definitely on the harder side. Also recommend taking Math 6A with or before this class. Probably could've earned an A if I took it.

Homeworks and tests were hard. However, going to office hours is very helpful. Grade was based on midterm, final, and quizzes, but he curved. Going to lecture became important in the 2nd half of the class because he solved problems on the board too. Overall, would take one of his classes again.

Took 120A over summer, was unprepared for what I was getting myself into. It's a hard class. Olafsson is a good professor, friendly, good office hours, has fair tests (similar to practice tests), & curves A LOT. I had a 77% in the class, got an A. I suggest not getting the book & doing the MIT & Harvard problem sets online. His HW isn't enough.

Good teacher. Theres lots of formulas to know how to use but you get a cheat sheet for the midterm and final. Posts lecture slides which is always helpful. If you have the option, don't take this class during the summer; my grade suffered because I didn't have enough time to master the content.

The subject matter was ok. Lots of equations for you to know, but you get a cheat sheet for the midterm and final. Didn't really need the textbook because he posts thorough lecture slides with example problems. He does the problems in class but he is a bad explainer. Confuses students himself and students. Both tests were hard.

the lecture notes will be on Gauchospace, if you have a strong math skill, you probably do not even have to come to the lecture. The homework is difficult but it is doable, and the midterm is based on the homework. The final exam is very tough. But he curve a lot. My grade went from B+ to A.

He is a very handsome guy, but not good as a teacher. He gives many curves. A easy midterm, but a extremely hard on finals.

He wants you to understand the material rather than learning how to do specific types of problems. You have to attend office hours to get hints but he is very approachable and willing to help, even replied to my emails in the middle of the night. Cute smile too!

Sveinn is a really nice guy but his lectures are not that useful. Sometimes he questions himself which makes it seem like he doesn't know what he's talking about. Grade consists of homework which were really difficult but go to office hours and they give hints, midterm which was very difficult, and final which was hard but not as bad as the midterm

Every HW assignment is difficult. In addition, my raw scores on both midterm/final were 53%. Yet my grade in the class was a B. So it's pretty demoralizing but keep your head up as you'll probably do just fine.

I like Sveinn. If you sit up front, you can hear his quality lectures. Posts solutions to everything which is great of any math teacher. Clearly a smart guy, I just wish he seemed more into it.

He has a very monotone voice which makes Statistics dryer and even more unappealing than it already is.
