Three assignments and a final. Had no idea what he was talking about for half the assignments. Got a B but the way he teaches and lectures is not of quality

Dont do it. Awful teacher, grading policy isnt clear and hard to reach outside of class. Never responds to emails and he uses ProctorU. Just dont

I am currently taking Mr. Orlando's class and he is one of my favorite professors, not only at UCSB but out of any schooling I've done. He is very genuine and dearly cares about each student. As for the class, he gives you everything you need to succeed and as long as you take notes and pay attention in lecture, you should at the least get a B.

Mark is by far the best professor I have EVER had. He is always willing to go above and beyond for his students and genuinely cares about your well-being. This class is extremely beneficial if you are working towards a career in the sport industry. Be willing to actually put in the time/work into this class to give him the respect he deserves.

Mark is an outstanding professor who genuinely cares about each and every student. He goes above and beyond to help and support each student by going as far as to give out his personal phone number, how crazy is that! Words can't express how awesome Mark is so please take one of his classes and see for yourself.

Mark exemplifies what a means to be a professional in every sense of the word. The combination of his energy, and in depth understanding of the sports world make for a memorable student experience. His courses challenges you to critically think and promotes teamwork for future career endeavors. I would highly recommend enrolling.

The best professor i've ever had. He's called the people's champ for a reason. Must take! His classes are interactive and very interesting. He is also a beast and will help you at any time. He even gives out his phone number to text him in case you have any questions. Orlando is the real MVP

Mark is hands down the best professor ever! He gives his students every resource possible to succeed. He understands that students pay a lot of money for classes and therefore makes the class for you. Mark is just an all around incredible human and being in his class will uplift your life. Do your part and theres no reason not to get an A+.

Super easy literally just show up and participate and youll be chillin. You can prob get the A if you put some effort into the paper. test are easy just pay attention on the reviews and take some notes. 2 tests and paper. He allows retakes which is a huuuuge plus

Dr. Orlando is a good professor and offers a lot of opportunities outside of his class, as well. His class was fun and engaging and I definitely learned a lot of cool things about the sports industry. I felt he could be somewhat dismissive and rude to students at times but it didn't affect my personal experience in his class.

Mark Orlando is hands down the best professor at UCSB. I have never met anyone who cares so much about their students success. He gives you ever opportunity to succeed in his class, as well as opportunities to succeed in the world of sports management. Class is comprised of 2 midterms a business strategy plan and presentation. Highly recommend.

Mark is one of the best professors I've ever had at UCSB. He is caring, compassionate and genuinely cares about your well-being. His tests are straight forward, just like his lectures. He is easily accessible and brought in guest speakers that offer experience in the sports industry. Amazing teacher, thank you Mark!

Mark is cool, and helpful. He knows his stuff and is very engaging and well-spoken. Just write notes down and memorize the "kickoff words" and you'll do fine on the final. He lets you retake it if you don't do well.

Mark is one of the better professors i've had at ucsb because he really wants to work with the students. He always makes himself available and the info in his classes has been the most real world prep i have had here. 1 midterm 1 group paper, a bit of work but by no means is it boring. He also gives lots of extra cred and no final. take him!!

Mark is an excellent professor and role model. He does everything possible to make sure you succeed in his class and in life. I took his ESS100 class which is dense in material, but nothing too challenging. If you take a class with Mark always go to him if your having trouble, he is always willing to accommodate you specifically if you just ask!

Amazing professor and human in general. I think almost everyone who takes him will say the same thing. He actually cares about every student and is always willing to help. The only problem with the class is that if you love sports and you aren't the gm you won't have as much fun as you could. Great class but I feel like I missed out somewhat.

Orlando is the best teacher on this campus, guaranteed! Nobody else has the passion for what they are teaching like he does, and the real-life practical applications of this course are invaluable! I would highly recommend not only taking this course, but enrolling in the Sport Management certificate as well. Youre the GOAT Orlando!

One of the best professors ever! midterm, final, fun and easy extra credit opportunities, and press conference. One advice is not to start late on the press conference because it may seem a little but it is a lot of details. You don't need to know sports but having some background is helpful. He is very approachable and ready to help WHENEVER!!

Dr. Orlando is very passionate and clearly cares about his students. Lecture is always interesting. Take sports administration even if you aren't interested in a career in sports.

Professor Orlando's classes are amazing, insightful, and informative. Taking a class with him will challenge your ability to think critically and outside the box. Be ready to get out of your comfort zone and put in work. You get out what you put into his classes. It's all worth it if you value your education. Mark is passionate take advantage!!!

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR but just make sure to actually study for the midterm/final. As for what to study, he makes that clear. However some of his questions are rather subjective so know what he points out and know it well. Other than that, the class is fun and insightful. Mark is the man.

I'm a transfer student, and for the past 6 quarters at UCSB I have made it a point to try to take at least one of professor Orlando's classes. He is by far the nicest, most caring professor at UCSB. You will learn A LOT of useful information about the sports industry, and he is completely willing to try to get you to where you want to be TAKE HIM!

Helpful in and outside the class. Genuinely cars and provides real word application to the material.
