She didn't bother to show up for the second midterm or final. Read off lecture slides in 30 minutes (1 hour+ class time) and clearly didn't know the material well enough to answer basic questions. Study guides were vague, long, and did not reflect exam material. Zero accommodations for students with covid or illnesses. Do not take.

2 midterms, 1 final, and problem set/ case studies. Her slides are basically a copy and paste of the textbook. She will read off the slides and then dismiss the class early. SHE DOES NOT CURVE ANYTHING. The class average was around 65%. Doesn't matter if you're interested in the topic, she will make this class so unenjoyable.

the way she slightly rephrases the words on the powerpoint and uses a lot of hand motions as if that will stop us from realizing she doesn't know anything. idk if I'm more pissed at her or UCSB- this course felt eerily similar to my 8th grade science class and I pay 14 grand to be here. don't go to class, just memorize all of her slides and ur good

Worst professor I have ever had at UCSB. She is encouraging people to come to the final with COVID because even with the rising case numbers the final is in person and if you miss it you have to take an incomplete and take the test with another professor. Considering she knows nothing, if you took someone else's final you would definitely fail.

She just reads off the slides. Does not know anything about human physiology. Speaks very softly so you can't even hear what she is saying if you sit in the back of the room. Her exams have nothing to do with her study guide at all. Better off guessing what will be on the exam rather than using her study guide. DO NOT TAKE HER FOR THIS COURSE!

the reviews speak for themselves. i can't believe im paying so much money just for a professor to read off the slides and not know a single thing about physio. i guarantee you if she took her own exams, she would not pass it. do NOT take her and if you do, get ready to teach yourself bc she will not help you at all.

does not know how to teach, reads word for word off of the slides, if you have a question she goes back and reads the exact same words and hopes that answers your question and moves on. I could have taught this class and I have no knowledge for this course.

To all the comments about her not knowing physio, unable to answer any questions, inflexible, etc. 100% complete facts, why am I even going to school here if I am paying for an expensive teleprompter as a professor. Had to self-teach everything with the book and online resources. I feel bad for my fellow classmates, the TAs, and myself.

The professor doesn't seem like she knows physio at all. She reads off the slides that was copied from the textbook. Lecture is suppose to be an hour and 15 minutes but she only uses 20 minutes. She couldn't answer any of the student's questions. She refuses to post any answer keys for hw and midterms. Not responsive on email.

she is clearly unfamiliar with the material as she seems unsure of information during lecture and is often unable to answer students' questions. she won't release answer guides for exams and worksheets, gauchospace pages aren't up on time, and lecture slides often have errors. i relied on notes from mcdb1b to study. if you can avoid it, DO NOT TAKE

seriously just don't do it. her tests aren't impossible but there's SO much to memorize. i honestly feel bad for her because i seriously don't think she's supposed to be teaching this course and it shows. she can't answer students questions and sometimes even asks if anyone else knows the answer. immense amount of memorization needed for tests. ;/

It's so frustrating because she doesn't even know what she is teaching which is very obvious but she refuses to curve the course at all based on the class's average. She is very inflexible and is out of touch with this course.

It's so frustrating taking a class with a professor who doesn't know how to teach it at all. The lecture is supposed to be an hour and 15 minutes long, yet she goes through it in 20 minutes because she's just reading off the slides. Any person who asks her a question, she doesn't know how to answer it. Idk how she's teaching this course.

Doesn't know anything about physio. Very unflexible prof that refuses to give out solution sheets to our hw making it really hard for ppl to study/learn. All i have learned is that she is a big enforcer of the no food/drink policy in Girvetz Hall. Do not take this class w her!!!!!

Professor Acevedo is extremely nice and helpful while in office hours. She is very open and welcoming of questions. Her lecture slides are very helpful and if you study those and what is said in the book/ class about the topics on her slides, you will get an A/A+. She assigns extra credit too which is fun, meaningful, and super easy.

WORST lecturer I have ever had. The class material could have been interesting but this teacher is very boring. Halfway through the quarter I stopped going to class and just got the lecture notes online. Tests weren't too hard if you do the reading and review the material.

Very dull teacher, found it difficult to pay attention in class. Textbook was fine and her slides were not very informative.Subject matter was interesting just wish it was presented better and with more enthusiasm. Test was easy. She "required" participation but all her questions were mainly towards those who were in a committed relationship :(

This class had so much potential for being fun and interesting but unfortunately it was taught by one of the worst professors I've ever had in my 3+ years as a student here. Her lectures are boring and the slides she provides are confusing, she seems confused, and, although the test was somewhat easy, I feel like I learned nothing.

The content of the class is very interesting. Too bad it is taught by one of the worst professors at UCSB. Lectures are boring because she just reads off the slides. Almost all of the information is in the book. The MC part of the midterm was easy, but the fill in the blank was not! Honestly, a great class was ruined by a horrid teacher.

ruined psy149 (boring lectures). try to take the class w/COLLINS. midterm and final (MC and fill-in). goes pretty quick on slides so upload them before class. wish her lecture wasn't so high schooly. can't feel the passion she has for the class

Multiple choice portion of exam is easy, short answer part is not. Boring lecture.

Prof Acevedo is one of the nicest people ever, but the class takes advantage of this and walks all over her-it's uncomfortable. The midterm was fair and reflected what she discussed in lecture (besides a few direct-from-textbook questions), and the final isn't cumulative. To get participation all you have to do is say something in lecture, easy!
