he was a wonderful teacher those who dislike his teaching still might not be able to understand the material. he does not sugar coat the realities of the world and privledged white kids cant handle racism and topics surrounding it.

i agree with other ppl. he is the best teacher at ucsb. i dont think i'll ever meet another teacher as passionate as he is about his work and life overall. he is a great motivator. i enjoyed te class i took with him and look forward to more

the best teacher at UCSB...if people think that he is not a great teacher it is simply because they know nothing of PRAXIS...if you do not know look it up TAPADOS!!! You will remain blind to reality and continue to consume for hapinness

A completely misguided class. Instead of providing a basic understanding of the subject, it appears we were all actually enrolled in Therapy 101. Definite preference for students he prefers - unfortunate, but true. He does try quite a bit, but never accepts a class for what it is. Reminds the class how sad/mad he is about what we're NOT doing.

Chicano St 1A was one of the best classes Ive taken here at UCSB. Ralph is a great professor who is passionate about this subject. He makes it a point to help you if youre lost.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

very passionate teacher. you can tell he really believes what he teaches. most inspiring, eye opening class ive ever taken. highly recommended

So passionate about what he teaches. Must take even if it means aranging your entire schedule around him. Also finished 18 chapters back in my reading still managed an A.

Very emotional, but offers a wonderful forum for learning about oneself and about issues that actually matter.

He was a dork. He would cry in almost every lecture.
