I took this class on zoom and professor Christophe is one of the easy people to pass political science 101. There is 3 test and for each test, it contains 4 short essay questions but he only wants you to answer 2 out of the 4 questions and they are simple. He actually cares for your grade and there are no quizzes. Do the work and you'll pass.
All he does is talk about his kids and teaches non sense. Honestly he is probably the worst professor I have ever had
This class is extremely easy, despite Sprecher being a horrid professor. His lectures are boring and lifeless, and he doesn't seem to care about teaching at all. The TA's are great though and section is really helpful. I only did maybe half of the assigned reading and stopped attending lecture halfway through the quarter and still got an A-.
The least informative professor I've probably ever had, especially considering the amount of reading we had to do. Guy actually cancelled multiple lectures as well, which makes you question his motivation. Very easy class, though.
Don't take a class from Sprecher. Ever! His lectures were useless and disorganized. He obviously never prepared. I'm convinced that the class was only easy because the TAs compensate for how terrible he is. I went to lecture and did the readings and still had no idea how they related to the questions and essay prompts. Still got an A somehow.
I love Political Science classes and the politics; however, this class and this professor is SO BORING! He just lectures and lectures and goes off on tangents. Long paper. This is the first class I full on dislike...
The most useless and annoying professor I've ever had. All he does is talk about his children. He teaches you nothing and his final was completely out of no where, stuff he had never taught us. Avoid at all costs
Sprecher is NOT bad. He is laid-back, not lazy. Yes, he appears unorganized in lecture and takes awhile to get started. Yes, he assigns a lot of reading. BUT, he chooses good, relevant readings, and he is very chill in office hours. His tests are fair and straightforward, and so is his grading. I would take another class with him.
This class is easy, but the lectures are a useless bore. The TA's are pretty helpful though. If you do even a small amount of the reading, there's no point in attending lecture as he regurgitates the power-points that are already online while offering no insight into the topics.
The guy seems lazy. He probably knows what he's talking about, but I wouldn't know because all of the powerpoints are straight from the textbook's website and are super redundant. Don't bother with lecture if you do all the reading. The class was pretty easy as long as you aren't stupid.
Possibly the worst professor I've ever encountered at this school. Just because he has a PhD in International Relations does not mean he's qualify to teach a course on the subject. His lectures are SO frustrating because he never actually explains the material. Even his TAs agree his lectures are pointless. I liked the class--but not him.
This man does not teach, cannot teach, should not teach. He is the rug on which scholars walk and wipe their feet. He starts the class with a 20 minute introduction to his daily life, and then stumbles through the rest of the lecture with unorganized thoughts - sprinkling it with more stories about his life. Easy A, though.
talks about himself for the first 20 min power point and lecture does not go in depth about subjects we are learning talks about current events while he rambles but doesn't completely make sense wouldn't recommend this course especially since section hasnt been helpful either
Horrible. Rambles about his personal life for half the class, other half he skims over the ENDLESS reading (about 3 a day) without getting to the point. I'm a polisci major, but int politics is not my focus. If im expected to do work for sections and show up to those sections, he should be expected to attend his lectures and explain the texts!
During his lectures, he uses slides that are pertinent to the material we are learning, but he never elaborates on them! He will literally read a term, and then forget to define it or explain to the class why it's relevant. His lectures are almost pointless to go to because of how unorganized and unclear he is. I don't recommend him as a professor
Rambles quite a bit and not too clear on what exactly he's attempting to teach. Not a very good lecturer and doesn't stay on topic throughout the course of his lectures. Talks about himself and current events in a semi-satirical manor, which gets annoying to listen to two times a week.
Very unorganized and does not present material in a clear and effective way. He usually begins class by talking about himself for 10 minutes, then spends the next 40 minutes briefly going over material. As a political science major I would not suggest students to take this class with him.
I haven't finished the course yet, but as a third year undergrad, I can honestly say he is the worst lecturer I've ever encountered
Good professor and knows his stuff. His lectures are okay, he tends to ramble a bit which I found hard to take notes on. Very approachable and relaxed. Had 1 research paper 8pages or so, a midterm (essay prompts), and final(essay prompts). He gives some basic study guides before the tests which help. Stay current with the readings.
