You need to pay attention to the lectures. She is extremely helpful in office hours and gives a lot of additional material for the course.
The class is quite hard, however she explains the ideas with several examples. I 'm happy I took this class with her.
She is a poor teacher. Many important ideas on her slides in lecture have errors which confuse the class. When asking a question about the square root of n, she insisted it was n, then the next lecture said it was the square root of n. She is not very knowledgeable in the subject, and shows no passion for her students or the subject. Try to avoid.
Lecture notes are difficult to digest. Given that she is a first year teacher, the probability that she screws up her lectures is greater than the times she tried to teach with clarity. Does not let you use graphing calculators, free response exams. If you love being confused and lost, this class is for you. Her grading scale is pretty fair though.
Well if you are looking for a teacher that doesnt teach from the book AT ALL, has typos on every lecture, doesnt explain anything well in class, and doesn't give equation sheets for the midterms (when all other teachers do) then this is the prof for you! She absolutely sucks...and thinks its okay for the midterm average to be a D. DO NOT TAKE
Unwilling to adapt to the teaching environment nor does she understand what students need to thoroughly grasp a concept. After having had some experience in another PSTAT class due to not being able to crash it, I realize just how good of a professor I could have had. Avoid this class. Wait another quarter if possible. Its for the best.
Worst professor I have had at UCSB. Avoid at all cost by far. She is incapable of teaching, makes at least 10 mistakes per lecture, and confuses the hell out of you. Do not, I repeat, do not take this professor.
Crap this chick says ?ohh i didnt give it to you, i just guessed? ?all good? all good? ?well do it this way, itll be easier....i think?
